DesktopPayment Out
Menu Purchases → Payment Out (`/purchase/payments`). Record payments to suppliers with party, cash/bank, amount, and linked purchase invoices. Also create Payment from a Purchase Invoice view or from Party / Cash / Bank history.
Pay from Purchase Invoice
From Purchase Invoice view/preview you can create a payment against that bill’s open balance — the fastest path when you already have the supplier invoice open.
Create Payment from the invoice
- 1Open Purchase Invoice list → View / Preview
- 2Confirm Open / Remaining amount on the bill
- 3Click Add Payment (or create Payment from view)
- 4Choose Bank or Cash, account, amount (≤ open), date, reference
- 5Save — open balance drops; Payment History gains a line; Payment Out / account ledgers show the outflow
Why start from the invoice
- Invoice is pre-selected — no hunting for the right bill on Payment Out
- Open amount is the payment ceiling so you avoid overpaying that bill
- Payment History on the same preview explains prior settlements
- Still uses the same Cash/Bank accounts as Purchases → Payment Out

Frequently asked
Is Add Payment the same as Payment Out?+
Yes in substance — money leaves Cash/Bank against the supplier bill. Add Payment is invoice-first; Payment Out list is register-first. Both reduce open balance and update ledgers.
Where is Payment History?+
On Purchase Invoice Preview → Payment History. The Payment Out list also keeps the payment row for that settlement.
