Manufacture (plan feature): define Bill Of Material at `/definitions/bom`, run Manufacture Orders at `/definitions/manufacture-order` with Start Manufacturing, and review Material Consumption and Production Cost reports. Finished products can show average manufacture cost on the Item Product Cost tab.
Finished Product & Product Cost
When a Finished Product has a manufacture plan, Billoxy shows Average cost on the Item Product Cost tab after manufacture runs — linking production cost back to the catalogue.
How Item and Manufacture connect
- Create the output as Finished Product under Item
- Attach a manufacture plan / BOM so the product can be manufactured
- Run Start Manufacturing and save cost (material + labor + overhead)
- Open the item → Product Cost tab to see Average cost from manufacture activity
- Raw Material items remain the inputs on the BOM and Material Consumption report

- 1Ensure the item stock type is Finished Product with manufacture plan enabled
- 2Complete at least one manufacture run that saved production cost
- 3Open Item → select the finished product → Product Cost tab
- 4Review Average cost and compare with Production Cost report Cost Per Unit
Keep selling prices and Average cost in sync mentally: manufacture drives cost; Item holds the master. Deep Item fields (HSN, barcode, stock) stay under Item — Manufacture only adds the production cost story.

The item may lack a manufacture plan, or no Start Manufacturing run has saved cost yet. Complete a run and refresh the Product Cost tab.
