Manufacture (plan feature): define Bill Of Material at `/definitions/bom`, run Manufacture Orders at `/definitions/manufacture-order` with Start Manufacturing, and review Material Consumption and Production Cost reports. Finished products can show average manufacture cost on the Item Product Cost tab.
Start Manufacturing
Start Manufacturing runs a pending Manufacture Order — choose finish product and BOM, enter quantity and date, add labor/overhead, confirm materials, then save production cost.
Start Manufacturing flow
- 1From a pending Manufacture Order, click Start Manufacturing
- 2Confirm finish product, linked BOM, quantity, and date
- 3Enter labor and overhead costs as applicable
- 4Confirm materials (planned from BOM vs what you actually use)
- 5Save so material consumption and production cost are recorded
Fields on Start Manufacturing
- Finish product — the Finished Product you are producing
- BOM — recipe that drives planned raw material quantities
- Quantity — how many finish units this run produces
- Date — production / posting date for the run
- Labor and Overhead — non-material costs included in Production Cost
- Confirm materials — review and adjust actual consumption before save
- Save cost — posts Material, Labor, Overhead and derives cost per unit

Cost inputs
Match confirmed raw quantities to physical usage. Large Planned vs Actual gaps show up on Material Consumption — fix BOM qty or confirmation habits so Average cost on the Item Product Cost tab stays trustworthy.

Can I start manufacturing without a BOM?+
Define the BOM first at `/definitions/bom` so planned materials exist. See Bill Of Material.
Where do labor and overhead appear later?+
On the Production Cost report (Material, Labor, Overhead, Cost Per Unit) and on the finished item’s Product Cost tab when a manufacture plan is set. See Reports.

Manufacture Orders plan how much of a finished product to produce. While pending you can Start Manufacturing; when complete you View the result — completed orders cannot be deleted.
