DesktopPurchase Invoice
Menu Purchases → Purchase Invoices (`/purchase/invoices`). Record supplier bills (and returns / credit / debit notes), track open payable balance, create Payment Out from preview, and link back to Purchase Orders.
Open Amount & Payable Balance
On both the list and the preview, Billoxy shows how much of the purchase invoice is still open — the remaining amount you can pay — so partial payments, returns, and debit/credit notes stay clear.
What “open” means
- Invoice / Payable Total — full amount due after tax, discounts, and TDS on the bill
- Paid — sum of payments already posted against this invoice (Bank + Cash)
- Open / Remaining — amount still open and available to pay (and shown on list + preview)
- Open decreases when you Add Payment; adjustments from Return / Debit / Credit update payable context per product rules
- When open reaches 0, the invoice is fully settled (Paid); between 0 and total = Partially Paid

Adjustments
Return, Debit, and Credit notes change what remains payable — recheck open after posting.
Typical payment planning
- 1Open Purchase Invoice list → sort or filter by open / unpaid
- 2Note Open amount on the row or card
- 3View preview → confirm Open / Remaining
- 4Add Payment for that open amount (or a partial) via Bank or Cash
- 5List and preview refresh — open drops; Payment History gains a line
Partial payments are normal — pay what cash flow allows; open amount always shows what is still available to pay on that invoice.
Frequently asked
Why is open less than invoice total with no payment yet?+
Check TDS, invoice discounts, or already-linked adjustments (Return / Debit / Credit). Payable Total after those effects is the true starting open.
Can open go above the original total?+
Normally no. Debit/Credit and Return flows adjust the net payable; open stays within what the invoice still allows to pay under product rules.
